SKATEBOARD MFG

Yes, we do print, press, cut, sand, and finish our shop decks here at JSP.  We offer a bunch of different shapes and sizes to fit your needs!  Yes, we also do custom decks as well!  Stop down to the shop for a tour, but for now here's a quick vid of the process.

IN THE WHALE! BEST TRICK MINI RAMP!

Easter Sunday evening, JSP will be hosting live music by In The Whale from Denver, CO.  You don't want to miss this band, they're a two piece crusher band that is on tour right now with Gogol Bordello.  Along with the music we will be having a best trick session on our mini ramp.  Of course upstairs will be open for bowl shredding too.  Party starts anytime after 5 with beverages and the band goes on around 7 pm!  Stop down and have a blast!

KING OF THE RAMP 2016-JAKE LUTHER

What a night, King 2016 really went off this year!  With Mike Berdis back defending his 5th King title, the field knew they would have to skate their hearts out to take the crown from Berdis.  With our largest group of competitors ever, the session was heavier than ever.  Everyone skated so well, which made the judging really tough.  If you've never been to KING at JSP,  we highly suggest you try to make the next one!  This is one of the best events of the year, ANYWHERE!  Jake Luther from Erie, PA commanded the bowl all night which put him up on top this year, congrats LUTHER!  Andy Geary skated into 2nd and Anthony Ferarri landed in 3rd.  Thanks to all who came out and supported our cause!  Much appreciation to our sponsors:

Dylan Rieder Has Passed Away At 28

Dylan Rieder has been one of the most influential skateboarders for the last 10 years. From his part in Transworlds "A Time to Shine", to his famous part in Alien Workshops "Mindfield", and his solo part from Gravis Dylan had power, speed, and style. His one-of-a-kind pro model shoes, his tight leather pants, and very suave personality are few things that made Dylan special. His skating always over powered the things people talked about. He was more than just a skateboarder. Dylan died from complications with leukemia on October 12, 2016.

KING OF THE RAMP 2016 TEASER

JSP's infamous KING OF THE RAMP will be on Saturday, October 22.  Yes, this is the one skate contest we have here, but this night is much more than a contest.  The skating is always going off, the food is great, old friends getting to catch up and have a great night at this awesome facility we have in Downtown Jamestown!

Fun Session On The New Setup At JSP

I've been waiting for some crushers to show up and give our new setup a good break-in.  JSP shredders Andy Geary, Mike Berdis, and Mike Calimeri showed up last night to give it a try and I'm pretty sure they all approve.  Everything flows really well and the new masonite is really smooth and has great grip.  Everyone is welcome so please come on over to JTNY and give it a rip!

Ready Yet?

As much as we all love the summer months, we have been thinking of the upcoming winter.  Living around this area all year is much easier if you can find ways to enjoy the cold & snowymonths.

As always during winter, JSP will have it's line of JSP Snowboards for sale.  Our decks are made by Homewood Snowboards, which is located just 45 minutes away in Bradford, PA.  We stock twin tip, all mountain freestyle decks, but Homewood does offer a variety of deck styles if you are looking for something else.  They make great snowboards over at Homewood, and their setup is pretty rad.  If you find yourself in Bradford area, definitely stop by for a quick tour.

Please stop down to JSP to check out our setup, and get more info on any products we sell.  We do have an in-house skateboard manufacturing setup, along with an indoor skate spot.  We guarantee the stop will be worth it!

KING OF THE RAMP 2016-OCTOBER 22

It will be here before you know it, KING 2016!  Just a week or so before we find out who is going to be our new ruler of the USA (either choice is complete rubbish), JSP will be holding it's annual bowl contest, KING OF THE RAMP.  This is the night to come check out the best skaters around battling it out on our ramp for the title.  2015 was the heaviest year yet, with Mike Berdis taking his 5th KING Title, Anthony Ferrari taking 2nd, and Wildman Mike Nypaver taking 3rd. Skating, friends, food, music, and more makes our favorite night at JSP in Downtown Jamestown! We will keep posting more updates about KING 2016 every so often to keep everyone informed.  Here's a highlight vid of 2015-ENJOY!

ALTERNATE EDIT-WHEELING, SKATOPIA, ATHENS

Here's an alternate edit of our trip to Skatopia and back.  This was shot on my digital Harinezumi, which is a toy camera that shoots kinda like a Super 8, but digital.  Not one Harinezumi shoots the same, I've had three and I can say that is a true statement!  They are a really fun camera to shoot with, they weigh almost nothing so it's easy to just keep in your pocket when rolling around.  Check em out at http://superheadz.com/dh3/

ENJOY!

LAST STOP! GRINDLINE'S INFAMOUS ATHENS, OHIO PARK

Athens, Ohio was the last stop on our trip.  It was pretty tough to get the gears in motion after a long night at Skatopia, so we warmed up at the Pomeroy, Ohio park for a bit and then headed straight to Athens.  The park in Athens was built in early 2000's by Grindline, and it definitely lives up to Grindline'sstandards-great flow, mostly big stuff to keep you puckered the entire time.

JSP Summer Skate Trip

The crew just went on it's yearly summer skate trip.  Starting in Wheeling, WV, where the skatepark is lit up all night.  After picking everyone up, we arrived in Wheeling around 10pm to find a good amount of locals there shredding.  This park has a lot to offer for any type of skater.  The street course isn't huge but is put together really well, the bowl is pretty grand in size, with tons of different pockets, coping, and transitions you'll never get bored!

Next Stop was the infamous Skatopia, located in Rutland, Ohio.  Whether you are skating the Lula Bowl, getting the tour from Owner Brewce himself, getting crushed in the Epcot Bean, or just shooting fireworks at us skating, Skatopia is never short of entertainment.  Since you are in the neighborhood, a stop at the new Pomeroy, Ohio park is definitely worth it! There's two small bowls that are a great mini-golf sesh.

Last stop was the Athens, Ohio park.  This place is really sick.  Built by Grindline in early 2000's, the concrete isn't polished so be ready to lose some skin when you go down.  There's awesome flow to this park with anything ranging from 2 feet to 11 feet, with a fullpipe/capsule setup at the end of the big bowl.  Stadium lights keep this place going into the night, and there's a sweet public pool right next to the park for some cool-downs.

Check the 4 mini edits on our FB or our youtube channel!

GREEN JELLY AT JSP!

Green Jelly is coming back to Jamestown to play another set at JSP, so get ready for another awesome night with the Cow God! Make sure to check out The Active Artists Alliance show around the corner at Wintergarden Plaza and then come on over to JSP for some killer music, skating, and food! Doors are at 9 for the show, but the bowl will be open all day for skating. $5 cover as always going to a great cause. Hope to see y'all there! This is going to be a great night in JTNY!

KING OF THE RAMP VII

That's right!  KING VII is here already, and we couldn't be more excited.  This is our only contest in the bowl for the year.  We don't love contests too much but it is fun to throw a bash once a year to see who takes home the crown.

Registration will start at Noon, and close at 4pm.

Am Class entry is $10

Master's Class entry is $10

Open Class entry is $20-cash payout for 1st place

JSP SKATES WEST!

The JSP recently took a road trip out West for a couple of weeks.  Our main purpose was to move Alex Carlson to Mammoth, California.  Our crew included Nick Bettinger, Alex Carlson, and old filmer dude Pedro Boracho.

We hit parks, backyard bowls, and pools throughout Colorado, Utah, Nevada, and California.  I would say it is a toss up between the Heckle Hole in Fairplay, Colorado or The Tahoe Inn, Lake Tahoe, Ca for the top skate spot on the trip.

After arriving at our final destination, Mammoth, Ca, we skated the infamous Volcom Brother's Park for the week.  Luckily for us (and everyone else there), there was a bunch of crushers like Raven Tershey, Cody Chapman, Tom Scharr, PLG, Ben Hatchell, Sam Beckett, and more skating Mammoth the entire week, filming for a Thrasher edit.

This trip was one of the most productive, problem free road trips I've ever been on.  We hit so many spots, met a bunch of great people, and ate so much awesome Mexican food!  You can check out our mini-edits from the trip on our youtube or FB, or just use these links.

JSP SPRING BREAKISH

We are back from a somewhat spring break and are ready to roll.  The bowl and street are open for normal hours and as always, open late on weekends!  We had a great trip out west, which included Burnside action, Mt. Hood touristos, spring shredding at Mt. Bachelor and Jackson Hole.  We hit a bunch of skate spots driving from the West to the East which is always a great time!  Stay tuned for a mini-edit coming soon!

JSP

New JSP Snowboards!

JSP recently visited Homewood Snowboards to check out the progress on our new JSP snowboard decks.  This year we will be offering two construction choices on our HOLY SHRED.  First will be a flat camber, blunt twin tip with carbon V-Spot carbon pattern. This deck is laid up with an extra strength biaxial basalt laminate made from volcanic rock.  Second will  also feature a blunt twin shape, but with positive camber and carbon load bars for extra stability.  This board has a longer effective edge allowing you to ride a shorter board without sacrificing performance.  New graphics this year again by our talented friend, Dean Liebau.

We are expecting our made in USA, JSP Snowboards sometime towards the end of October.  If you are looking to pick one up, act fast because last year we sold out in only TWO WEEKS!  If you would like to reserve a board to guarantee you get one, stop in JSP, email, call, or message us for more details.

We are the only skate/snowboard shop in the region with our own custom shop snowboards.  Our snowboards are made in America by Homewood Snowboards, located just down the road in Bradford, PA.  For more info on Homewood, visit their website www.homewoodsnowboards.com
